Week 1 - Signs & Visual Communications, Part 1 (Michael Ayala 5th period)

(1) Defining terms related to concepts in Visual Communication; for each term do the following:

- Alphabet

1. the letters of a language in their customary order.




























-Street sign:

Noun 1. street sign - a sign visible from the street   

sign - a public display of a message; "he posted signs in all the shop windows"
address - a sign in front of a house or business carrying the conventional form by which its location is described











-Advertisement:1. The act of advertising2. A notice, such as a poster or a paid announcement in the print, broadcast, or electronic media, designed to attract public attention or patronage.











-Constellation:noun
1.
Astronomy.
  1. any of various groups of stars to which definite names have been given, as Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, Boötes, Cancer, Orion.
  2. the section of the heavens occupied by such a group.












-ASCII symbols:
1. It's a character-encoding scheme. Originally based on the English alphabet, it encodes 128 specifiedcharacters into 7-bit binary integers as shown by the ASCII chart on the right

-Electronic symbols:
Electrical symbols and electronic circuit symbols are used for drawing schematic diagram. The symbols represent electrical and electronic component.

Morse CodeMorse code is a method of transmitting text information as a series of on-off tones, lights, or clicks that can be directly understood by a skilled listener or observer without special equipment.





-American Sign Language:
(ASL) - lenguaje manual con su propia sintaxis y gramática usada primordialmente por gente con sordera.







-Glyph:   
 It's an elemental symbol within an agreed set of symbols, intended to represent a readable character for the purposes of writing and thereby expressing thoughtsideas and concepts.
